KLOOTCHLIMMIS RIVER
Company -> Timberlands -> Stewardship -> Implementation ->

Klootchlimmis River drains an area of 76 km2 and has an average slope of 2 percent along the lower 10 kilometers of channel. Closer to the logjam at the mouth, the slope reduces to less than one percent. The estimated 50-yr design flow is 460 m3/s with an estimated velocity of 4 to 5 m/s.

Over the past few decades, a series of large logjams have systematically blocked all of the main outflow channels to the estuary. Low flows were still able to pass through the logjams, but during high flow conditions, water would spill into the surrounding forest resulting in no single well-defined channel through or around the logjams.

Fish species that are known to use the basin include chum, coho and to a lesser degree steelhead.
