Tree Farm Licence 19 Draft Management Plan #10

As part of the Tree Farm Licence (TFL) agreement commitments, the Management Plan (MP) provides objectives, goals and strategies to guide management activities within the TFL. The MP and associated Timber Supply Analysis are used by the Ministry of Forests and Range Chief Forester to determine the Allowable Annual Cut (AAC).

TFL 19, managed by Western Forest Products Inc. covers 190,000 hectares on the west side of Vancouver Island in the vicinity of Nootka Sound. Now in its fifth decade of operation, WFP and predecessor companies have responsibly managed the licence for its long-term sustainability. The TFL currently provides direct employment for Gold River, Tahsis and Zeballos residents and is an important recreational and environmental resource in the Nootka Sound Region.

The draft MP for TFL 19 is available for public review from February 11, 2009 until April 14, 2009.  It is also available during normal business hours at the following locations:

  • WFP Gold River Office,
    300 Western Drive, Gold River. (250) 283-2221
