Tree Farm Licence 44 Management Plan #5

TFL 44, held by Western Forest Products Inc. (WFP), covers roughly 232,000 hectares of land on west central Vancouver Island in the vicinity of Alberni Inlet and Great Central Lake. Due to tenure restructuring WFP manages only a portion of TFL 44 with BC Timber Sales and Maa-Nulth First Nations managing the rest. The Management Plan (MP) is written to meet the requirements of the Tree Farm Licence Management Plan Regulation (B.C. Reg. 280/2009): it provides a general description of the TFL, a brief history of the TFL, a list of publicly available planning documents that guide WFP’s operations on the TFL and a timber supply analysis for the WFP portion of the TFL. The timber supply analysis provides information to assist the Chief Forester of BC in determining the allowable annual cut for TFL 44.

The MP for TFL 44 is available for public review from February 19, 2010 until April 20, 2010  during normal business hours at the following locations; please call ahead to arrange an appointment to view:

  • WFP Port Alberni office, 1080-A Franklin River Road, Port Alberni. Ph: (250) 720-4272
