SUSTAINABILITY
Products -> Species -> Sitka Spruce ->
Like all the wood fibre used in its products, WFP’s Sitka Spruce is a renewable, biodegradable and recyclable resource with a small environmental footprint.
The Sitka Spruce WFP uses in its products is certified to be harvested and reforested in a sustainable, renewable manner unlike other building materials, such as metal, cement, stucco and plastic, which are mined or manufactured from unrenewable resources.
In addition, the environmental impacts of WFP’s Sitka Spruce products are significantly less than those of manufactured or composite building products, which don’t decompose naturally and can spend up to hundreds of years in landfills. Sitka Spruce, like WFP’s other products, decomposes and naturally returns to the environment. It also can be reused, whether as beams or composite products, making it an excellent choice for your next project and for the environment.
