Steven Hofer joined Western Forest Products in September 2022 as the President and Chief Executive Officer. In this overall leadership role, he is accountable for the Company’s strategy and performance. Mr. Hofer is a strategic leader and experienced executive whose roles have spanned business development, operations, sales and marketing and product innovation. Mr. Hofer has over 30 years of experience in the forest products industry, including executive sales, marketing and operations roles with Interfor. Prior to joining Western, he was the Executive Vice President, Strategy & Business Development for the private equity-owned BID Group. Mr. Hofer holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Asian Studies from the University of Victoria and the Advanced Management Program from the University of Chicago.

Glen Nontell joined Western Forest Products in 2018. In August 2024, he was appointed the Company’s Chief Financial Officer. He previously held the role of Vice President, Corporate Development. As Chief Financial Officer, he is responsible for overseeing the Company’s Corporate Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, IT and Shared Services functions and has a leading role in advancing the Company’s strategic growth initiatives. Mr. Nontell has extensive capital markets and corporate finance experience, having previously worked in the investment banking group at Scotiabank, advising companies on a breadth of mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, IPOs, and equity and debt financing transactions across a broad range of sectors, including forest products. Mr. Nontell began his career at KPMG and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia.

Bruce Alexander joined Western Forest Products in December 2018 to provide leadership to Western’s sales, marketing and manufacturing business units. Mr. Alexander is an experienced executive who brings over 30 years of sales, manufacturing and management experience in the forest products and manufacturing industries, including on the coast of B.C. Most recently, Mr. Alexander held the position of Senior Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Logistics at Norbord. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry & Forest Management from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.

Jennifer Foster joined Western Forest Products in 2015 as Vice President, Human Resources to lead Western’s human resources strategy. Ms. Foster was appointed Senior Vice President, Human Resources & Corporate Affairs in February 2020 and is responsible for Human Resources, Labour Relations, Health & Safety, Environment and Corporate Affairs. Ms. Foster is a strategic leader with over 25 years of experience in Human Resources, including in the global automotive sector. Ms. Foster holds an Honours Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business, York University.  

Alyce Harper joined Western Forest Products in 2016. As Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, she oversees the Company’s legal and corporate compliance requirements for all areas of the business and advises the Company’s executive leadership team and Board of Directors on legal and governance matters. Before joining Western, Ms. Harper practiced law at a large global law firm where she acted for forestry and other natural resource companies on a variety of corporate and commercial matters and governance issues affecting stakeholders, directors and management. Ms. Harper is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and holds a Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia, as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University.

Jonathan Armstrong joined Western Forest Products in 2012 as the Company’s Land Use Forester, progressing to Vice President, Fibre Supply in 2020, and was appointed Vice President, Forest Stewardship and Fibre Supply in 2022. He is responsible for sustainability functions including forest certification, timber supply and silviculture, and the procurement, marketing and sales of logs and residual products. Over his 29-year career, Mr. Armstrong has held roles in the forest industry on the coast and in the interior of B.C. He is a Registered Professional Forester and holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry and a diploma in Integrated Resource Management from Lakehead University.

Don Holmes joined Western in 2019 and leads our Timberlands group, the team responsible for planning and engineering, operations for road construction, harvesting and log sorting on Crown tenures, private lands and joint ventures with First Nations. Mr. Holmes has 39 years of forestry-related experience. He previously held operations and senior management roles with TimberWest Forest Corp., Interfor and a consulting practice, where he was instrumental in helping First Nations and B.C. communities to establish and effectively run small forest tenures. Mr. Holmes holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from University of British Columbia and is a Registered Professional Forester (RPF).

As Western’s Vice President of Government Relations and Partnerships, Corinne is responsible for leading the Company’s engagement strategy with all levels of government – Indigenous, local, provincial/state and federal – as well as driving commercial partnerships that create shared value. She has dedicated more than 20 years to building strong partnerships and driving impactful solutions in the forest industry and successfully navigated senior roles across government, industry, and non-profit sectors. Since joining Western in 2022 as Vice President, Corporate Affairs, she has continued to champion the vital role forestry plays in local and First Nations communities and the global economy. Corinne is a Registered Professional Forester in the Province of B.C. She holds a Master of Forest Economics from the University of Helsinki and a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from the University of British Columbia.

Derek Haupt is responsible for Western’s solid wood manufacturing operations in B.C. and Washington State. He began his career with the company’s predecessor in 1989, starting in an entry-level position and steadily progressing through increasingly senior operational and leadership roles. His career has included manufacturing leadership roles and oversight of the company’s custom cut lumber programs for key international markets. As Vice President of Manufacturing, Mr. Haupt brings over three decades of operational expertise, industry knowledge and leadership experience to the role. He holds a Certificate in Business Management from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.    

Darren Gwozd is Vice President, Finance, a role that is critical in driving the Company’s fiscal health and aligning financial operations with the overall business strategy. He works closely with the executive leadership team, providing insights and recommendations to support long-term growth and profitability. Before joining Western in 2025, Mr. Gwozd held senior management positions, including chief financial officer for a premier Canadian gaming company. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with an Undergraduate Degree in Economics from University of British Columbia.

Don McGregor joined Western in 2018, originally tasked with leading a new wholesale supply department of the Company. His responsibilities quickly grew to overseeing Western’s entire lumber sales, produced by our sawmills and two remanufacturing businesses. His 33 years in the lumber industry included senior sales roles with Ledcor and Interfor, and founding the export lumber trading company, Vanport Canada. Mr. McGregor holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from University of British Columbia. He speaks fluent Japanese, having graduated from the Japanese Language Institute in Kobe, Japan.

Mat Prasad provides strategic oversight to several key areas of Western’s business. He leads a dynamic team of IT professionals dedicated to driving innovation and operational excellence to support Western’s strategy. His responsibilities extend to leading teams responsible for managing the Company’s procurement strategies and insurance programs, and administration of the real estate portfolio. Mr. Prasad came to Western in 2015 and brings over 30 years of experience in forestry and finance roles. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant with a Bachelor of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University.

As Vice President, Indigenous Partnerships, Seanna McConnell leads a team working to advance Western’s business partnerships and deepen engagement with First Nations across the regions where we operate. Ms. McConnell joined Western in 2016 and brings 28 years of related experience to the Company. Previously, she worked in Indigenous Relationships for BC Hydro and in treaty negotiations on Vancouver Island on behalf of the federal government. Ms. McConnell holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria.
