TFL 6, held by Western Forest Products Inc. (WFP), covers roughly 218,000 hectares of land on northern Vancouver Island in the vicinity of Quatsino Sound. The Management Plan provides a general description of the TFL, a brief history of the TFL, a list of publicly available planning documents that guide WFP’s operations on the TFL and a timber supply analysis for the TFL. The timber supply analysis provides information to assist the Chief Forester of BC in determining the allowable annual cut (AAC) for TFL 6.
Management Plan #10 for TFL 6 was approved by the Chief Forester of BC on February 10, 2012. Also on this date, the Chief Forester set the AAC for TFL 6 at 1,160,000 m3/year.On January 1, 2015, Block 4 of was deleted from TFL 39 and added to TFL 6. On the same date the AAC for TFL 6 was adjusted to 1,362,000 m3/year.
