Environmental Stewardship Defined:
“The responsible use and protection of the natural environment through sustainable practices”
The need to source wood products from environmentally responsible producers like Western Forest Products has never been more important. In today’s world, reducing effects on ecology and climate is a global expectation. WFP is fully committed to the protection of the environment and the sustainability of the resources in our care.
We are always working to reduce our environmental footprint so that our business practices are in balance with the environment’s ability to regenerate.
We manage our forests sustainably because healthy forests continuously producing wood are essential to our future as a wood products company. We are also bound by our responsibilities on public land to manage all forest resources for the generations of people who will need them in the future.
Every Registered Forest Professional employed in our forest operations has an individual professional responsibility to the public to practice good stewardship on forest land. Professionals from a diverse range of practices, such as wildlife biologists, hydrologists and terrain specialists, are also consulted to help guide our forest planning and practices, working together to grow tomorrow’s forests for us all.
